What is Ava Connect?
Ava Connect is a free professional hub built around our thesis of Connected Care, bringing mental health professionals together to collaborate, network, and improve access to support. It offers AI-powered tools to enhance operational efficiency and a public listing feature to help clients find the right therapist. At launch, professionals can claim a free 12-month listing on the AvaMind app and provide feedback to shape the platform. More features, including networking and practice management tools, are coming soon.
How does Ava Connect support mental health professionals?
Ava Connect supports mental health professionals by providing tools, resources, and networking opportunities to enhance their practice and effectiveness. Our aim is to complement, not replace, the invaluable work therapists do by helping them connect with clients more effectively through client discovery on the Ava Mind app, while addressing the mental health crisis together.
How much does it cost to use Ava Connect?
Ava Connect is free to join and will always remain free. Mental health professionals can access the Connected Care Hub for networking, collaboration, and community feedback at no cost. As part of our limited beta launch, public listings on the AvaMind app are free for up to 12 months—but this offer may change, and spots are limited. In the future, professionals will have the option to subscribe to additional tools and services, including AI-powered features, but joining the platform itself will always be free. We’re also exploring ways to support and thank our early adopters for helping shape the future of Connected Care. Pricing details for paid features will be shared closer to the time.
How does Ava Connect help connect therapists with the right clients?
Ava Connect helps connect therapists with the right clients by matching them based on location, specialisation, and therapy style. This approach reduces wait times, minimizes misdirection, and ensures clients receive the appropriate level of care quickly, offering a smooth transition from digital to in-person support. As we improve Ava, we'll find more innovative ways to enhance client discovery and make better matches.
Can I conduct therapy sessions through Ava Connect?
Currently, Ava Connect does not host therapy sessions. Inquiries from the AvaMind app go directly to your inbox or phone (if listed in your profile). You manage the entire client relationship, including session format (online, phone, or in-person) and payment. In the future, we may introduce online sessions and payment options based on community demand.
How are payments for client sessions handled?
Payments are not processed through Ava Connect. Therapists are responsible for arranging and managing payments with their clients directly.
Can I manage my profile on both the website & the app?
No! At this stage, the website is designed for therapists to manage their profiles and access professional tools in the Connected Care Hub. The app is public-facing and focused on client discovery. In the future, we aim to provide a cross-device, integrated experience.
Do I need to meet any qualifications to join Ava Connect?
All mental health professionals are welcome to join Ava Connect, including trainee counsellors, educators, and practitioners from various backgrounds. However, to be publicly listed on the Ava Mind app, therapists must hold a UK-recognised qualification (Level 4 or 5) in mental health practice and be registered with a UK voluntary membership body such as BACP, UKCP, HCPC, APA, or similar. This ensures that all publicly listed therapists meet the UK’s professional standards for training, ethics, and client care.
Is Ava Connect available on IOS and Android?
Ava Connect is currently only available through the Ava Connect website. The public-facing Ava Mind app is available on both iOS and Android, and we plan to launch a web version to make it accessible across all devices. In the future, we will also introduce an Ava Connect app to further expand access for professionals.
Is Ava Connect open to therapists from outside the UK?
Yes! Ava Connect is an international platform where therapists from around the world can network, collaborate, and provide feedback. However, therapy discovery and verification for the AvaMind app are currently focused on the UK. Therapists with UK-recognised qualifications and membership in a UK-recognised body will be verified and included in searches. Therapists from other countries can still join Ava Connect for free and will be the first to know when we open up public listings in other countries.
Can I network with other therapists on Ava Connect?
Networking features are currently in development. Therapists will soon be able to connect with peers, share training material, education, or lectures, find supervisors, and share resources through the Connected Care Hub.
Will you offer tools to help therapists grow their practice?
Yes! Planned features include an analytics dashboard, event promotion, client management, AI tools to drive efficiency within a practice or organisation, and the ability to sell courses or resources directly to clients or professionals.
Can students or trainee counsellors join Ava Connect?
Absolutely! We welcome students and trainee counsellors to join Ava Connect. While they’re not currently eligible for public listings on the AvaMind app, they can still be part of the community, access networking opportunities, and provide valuable feedback. We’re also exploring ways Ava Connect can support students in gaining supervised hours, with guidance from the professional community to address key considerations.
How do clients find me on Ava Connect?
Clients can find you through the AvaMind app if you have a public profile. Inquiries will come directly to your email or phone (if you choose to share your number). You manage your availability and control how you respond to inquiries as they come in. Ava Connect helps you manage your profile and access networking opportunities, but client discovery happens through the Ava Mind app.
What about service levels for clients?
We’re taking a similar approach to other listing platforms and leaving the assessment up to individual therapists. Currently, we help users identify and connect with a therapist, while the interaction and therapy that follow are managed by the practitioner. Therapists will also be able to list their expertise and qualifications, as you’d expect.
Is Ava Connect planning to use AI for other purposes?
Yes! In the future, we plan to explore valuable use cases for AI, such as client triage and treatment recommendations. This will be particularly useful as we approach collaborations with health organisations like the NHS to improve the accuracy of matches and treatment plans.
How is Ava Connect rewarding early supporters?
During our launch, public listings will be free for 12 months for a limited number of therapists. Beyond this, we plan to find ways to recognise and reward our early supporters as we grow, ensuring their early contributions are valued.
